Overview:
Heartland Ministry Development Center (HMDC) is a comprehensive ministry training center designed with the working student in mind. Be equipped through Bible education, practical ministry and mentorship. HMDC is located right here at Heartland Christian Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. In this setting where urban and rural Indiana merge, a diversity of hands-on ministry awaits you. Experience and understand serving prisoners and addicts; widows and orphans; the sick, the lonely, and the lost. Learn within a contemporary worship center the essentials of twenty-first century ministry in a state-of-the-art facility with skilled and experienced trainers. Classes are scheduled to accommodate students who work full time, and are paced to complete requirements for credentials in two years. Enrollment is open at any point during the 2 year sequence.
Certified Berean Study Center:
We established our center in 2004 to better equip people for service in the church and train them for occupational ministry. We joined over 1,000 study centers throughout the country associated with Berean School of the Bible, which saw its beginnings in 1941. Berean School of the Bible, a division of Global University, exists to help believers fulfill God’s call on their lives by providing high quality, affordable preparation for church leadership and lay ministry within the context of the local church and community.
Whether God has called you to minister from the pulpit or the puppet stage, from the classroom or the cafeteria, or from the hospital or the home, Berean School of the Bible has the courses you need to improve your understanding and presentation of God’s Word. These inspirational, practical courses use the local church and community and a “learning lab” where students can apply the knowledge they are gaining. One study center student explains, “…it's having a group of people you come and share your life with. You can share your joys and your problems; share your tragedies and your mountain top experiences. It's just us coming together and keeping each other up, keeping each other not just focused on the books, but focused on our ministries.”
At Berean School of the Bible, transcripts are maintained and diplomas are offered to validate completion of the studies. Diplomas are offered in Ministerial Studies, Special Ministries, Bible and Doctrine, Church Ministries, and Urban Bible Training or Native Leadership Development.
The General Presbytery of the Assemblies of God has approved the Ministerial Studies program of Berean School of the Bible to fulfill the educational requirements for ministerial credentials. The General Council Credentials Committee issues credentials upon the recommendation of the appropriate district, and are not issued by Berean School of the Bible.
Accreditation:
Global University (and its subordinate entities) is accredited by the Accrediting Commision of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC), a nationally recognized agency under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Education. DETC is also a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). |
