Royal Rangers

Heartland Christian Center hosts Royal Ranger Outpost #39. Royal Rangers is the official ministry for boys in the Assemblies of God. The organization is world-wide and has a mission to “Reach, Teach, and Keep Boys for Christ.” The Outpost is a part of Men’s Ministries, and has various adult leaders called Commanders as well as a Council that keeps the Outpost well planned and active.

In 1962, Rev. Johnnie Barnes put together the Royal Rangers program. Like the Boy Scouts of America, Rangers have uniforms and awards to earn, based upon the age of the boy. Unlike the Boy Scouts, Royal Rangers learn of God’s presence in the world and learn how to rely upon Christ in their lives. Jesus is spoken of in Outpost meetings and is honored by the works of the Outpost. This is accomplished through outings like overnight campouts and fishing trips, teaching by the Commanders on Wednesday nights, and special events like the Pinewood Derby Invitational.

Boys learn by doing. Whether building a car or catching a fish, boys gain insight into the wonderful world that God has made. Royal Ranger boys grow mentally, physically, spiritually, and socially into Christian men. Outpost #39 is committed to all boys at Heartland Christian Center. Anyone interested in joining Rangers or helping the Outpost, please contact Pastor Jeff Nice.
