This weekend we saw six people cross over from death to life, and many others move forward in their total commitment in the cause of Christ; that NEVER gets old! For years I have always thought that I was more like the Good Samaritan, but after reading Luke 10:25-37 God showed me that more often than not, I was actually more like the Priest and the Levite. Honestly, this one STUNG a lot…wow! Now it cost the Samaritan to cross the street and it will cost us our time, talent and treasure, temple to impact our world. We HAVE to be willing to be interrupted and inconvenienced. Being emotional about something will cause is to cry, but being filled with compassion will actually cause us to cross the street!
There will always be a reason why we can’t do what God is calling us to do. We need to get our ‘buts” out of the way! "One of the reasons many churches do not grow is because they are not willing to be inconvenienced! Someone told me this weekend that HCC is not a normal church; I told them that Normality is HIGHLY overrated. Jesus Christ did not come from heaven to earth and die on a cross to make us nice…He did so to make us DANGEROUS! Don’t sell your life out for lesser things because the Gospel, Jesus and His church matter…these will NOT pass away in obscurity but rather continue to shatter the darkness with the power of the light. Remember what you do matters. Don’t lose sight or focus…keep your eyes on Jesus and stay the course…and one day you will see it was worth it!<?xml:namespace prefix = o />
